Graduation Ceremony, Dubai
A commencement ceremony was recently held for graduates of GIA’s Graduate Diamonds diploma program in Dubai. Nirupa Bhatt, managing director of GIA in India and the Middle East, presented students with their diplomas. “By completing your GIA education, you have not only empowered yourself and obtained the knowledge necessary for a successful career, but you have also become a part GIA’s global network of alumni who share a passion for gems and jewellery,” said Bhatt.
GIA conducted its Pearl Grading Lab class in Dubai, which included participants from the UAE, Kuwait and Doha. GIA instructor Ziad Khaled shared vital knowledge about GIA’s 7 Pearl Value Factors™.
Factory Visit, Dubai, 8 June
Students from GIA’s Graduate Diamonds diploma program visited the factory of AB Industrial Diamonds, a diamond cutting and polishing factory in Dubai. Led by GIA instructor Ziad Khaled, students saw the diamond cutting process first hand. Mr. Anas Bangee, managing director of AB Industrial Diamonds, gave students an opportunity to grade a 1 carat diamond that had previously been graded by their gemologists.
GIA’s Graduate Diamonds Diploma programme in Bahrain, On April 24
On April 24, the first-ever commencement ceremony was held for graduates of GIA’s Graduate Diamonds Diploma programme in Bahrain. Chief guest Mr. Muhamed Mualim, managing director of Al-Sarraj Jewellers and treasurer of GCC Gold Jewellers Association, and Ms. Noora Jamsheer, owner of D for Diamonds, presented students with their diplomas. “Bahrain is an important centre for jewellery manufacturing and retail. And GIA education provides strong foundation to many who want to build a career and business in the gem and jewellery industry,” said Nirupa Bhatt, managing director of GIA in India and the Middle East.
Accredited Jewelry Professional Dubai
GIA recently conducted its Accredited Jewelry Professional diploma programme for sales associates of Damas in Dubai. The programme underscores proven sales techniques that enable jewellers to communicate product quality and value confidently to their customers. Participants learned about GIA’s International Diamond Grading System™ and various jewellery types and styles.
Graduate Diamonds Diploma Program in Bahrain, March 02, 2015
GIA is conducting its first Graduate Diamonds Diploma Program in Bahrain, a centre for jewellery manufacturing. The seven week diploma programme focuses on the world of diamonds, combining theory and hands-on practical learning. Students will learn to use gemmological instruments to grade and identify diamonds. Participants, of which many are from Bahrain, are interested in building their business and career in the jewellery industry. Accredited Jewelry Professional diploma programme in Bahrain
GIA conducted its Accredited Jewelry Professional (AJP) diploma programme in Bahrain from Jan. 5-8. The programme prepares professionals to confidently speak the language of diamonds, gems and jewellery to consumers. GIA’s AJP course in Bahrain is recognised by Tamkeen and is included in its list of ‘Approved Certificates’. This course is supported by the Ministry of Industry & Commerce, Manama – Kingdom of Bahrain.
